Diversion through Bradwell
Temporarily closure of part of Long Green, Cressing, from Galleys Corner for distance of approximately 330m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 12th October 2022 for 3 days.
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching and ironwork replacement works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
Alternative route via Galley’s Corner, B1018, Polecat Road, The Street, Ashes Road, (unclosed section) Long Green and vice versa.
Access for emergency service vehicles and pedestrians will be maintained at all times during the closure.
Note: BDC vehicles, Rowlands transport and Essex County Council will use this temporary route whilst the road closures are in place.

From Thursday 11 August 2022 BDCcollection crews will be starting earlier than usual, due to the heatwave.
In the interest of health and safety, the early start will help the crews to complete their rounds before the temperature peaks during the day.
Please place your items out for collection the night before your collection date.

The Essex County Council (Various Roads, Silver End) (20mph Speed Zone) Order 2022
Notice is hereby given that Essex County Council has made the above Order under Sections 84(1) (a) and (2) and Part III of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
The effect of the Order: To introduce a 20mph Zone on the following lengths of roads in the District of Braintree

Date of operation: The Order will come into operation on 25 July 2022

Application to the high court: Anyone who wishes to question the validity of the Order of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act, or any instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within six weeks from the date of the making of the Order apply to the High Court for this purpose.
