The Essex Way through Cressing
The Essex Way is a long-distance path stretching from Epping to Harwich – a distance of 81 miles. Cressing forms just a small part (about 1.6 miles) of this. With the railway line between White Notley and Cressing behind you, the Essex Way takes you through the countryside by Newbarns Farm and to the B1018 Witham Road. Here you need to take great care to cross the busy road and walk towards Cressing Tye Green for a short distance to where the Essex Way once again goes through the countryside. Following the footpath you will come out into Church Road. To the left you will see the historic Parish Church of All Saints. Again, carefully cross the road, take a few minutes rest to enjoy the beautiful grounds, the peace and tranquillity that only ancient churches can bring.
To the right of the Church you can re-join the Essex Way as it progresses past Egypts Farm and Wrights Farm on its way to Bradwell and Coggeshall.
