Rescue Me! Recycle – Information from Braintree District Council
This year we are supporting Recycle Week (14 – 20 October) to celebrate the efforts of people in our district and to ensure that common items of packaging are being recycled properly.
Did you know that nearly eight out of ten of us recycle incorrectly? Even though we might think it doesn’t make a difference, every item we recycle helps to conserve resources and reduce our environmental impact.
Why recycle?
- Preserve valuable materials: recycling helps to recover valuable materials that can be used again, reducing the need for extraction.
- Protect the environment: by recycling, we help to conserve energy and reduce pollution.
Check out what can be recycled on our website. There is also a video that explains what happens to the recycling that is collected at kerbside.
